The health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority, so we are doing everything possible to make certain that all our properties are safe, sanitary, and germ-free. In fact, we have developed a comprehensive property-wide program to provide you with the highest level of safety.

The program represents our substantial commitment to protecting guests, staff members, and the surrounding community by implementing a broad range of safety precautions. From masks provided to guests and staff members, to on-site social distancing measures, the program is our way of taking exceptionally good care of you, especially during this time. Property Safety Upgrades 

To ensure that The Lake House on Canandaigua provides a safe and hygienic environment, new electrostatic sprayers with hospitality-grade disinfectant will be used in each guest room upon departure as well as throughout all public areas of the hotel on a regular basis each day with an emphasis on high-touch surfaces.

Lobby & Public Spaces 

Social distancing floor markers will be present at the front desk and dining venues. To facilitate social distancing while on the property, dining tables are properly spaced at all indoor and outdoor venues. Hand sanitizer dispensers are located strategically around the hotel in high-volume traffic areas and back-of-house staff quarters, accompanied by signage throughout the property explaining proper hand-washing etiquette.

All food and beverage employees have been trained on the “Serve Safe” curriculum. In dining areas, menus will be single-use and silverware will be rolled for sanitation reasons. Tables and chairs will be disinfected after each use and all vendors must follow CDC procedures.

Guest Rooms 

To ensure our highest sanitation and cleanliness standards, the number of rooms each housekeeper cleans on a daily basis will be reduced. To reduce potential airborne contaminations, individual guest room linens will be bagged inside the room, sealed, and transported to dirty linen bins. All shared items have been removed from rooms, including pens and magazines. All guest rooms are disinfectected using electrostatic sprayers prior to the rooms being sealed with a COVID-19 sticker placed on the entry door which is only broken by guests entering their room for the first time ensuring they are the first ones into the space after proper sanitization procedures have been completed.

New Guest Procedures 

Guests will be required to wear face masks in public areas within the hotel, except while at dining tables or outdoors (must be 6 feet from others without mask on). We will provide guests with a mask and personal hand sanitizer if needed.

The Lake House does not require a negative COVID-19 test to stay at the hotel, but do caution travelers to please cancel or postpone their stay with us if they are sick or are showing any symptoms.  For information regarding all New York State Department of Health COVID-19 updates, please click on the link HERE for more details.

New Employee Procedures 

Employees will be required to arrive at staggered times to maximize social distancing, wear masks and gloves while in the workplace, wash hands for a minimum of 20 seconds before putting on new gloves and masks and change gloves frequently after interactions with guest’s items or service materials. The team will also be conducting temperature checks on all employees upon daily arrival using non-invasive infrared monitors.
