Where to Ski in the Finger Lakes

Wondering where to ski in the Finger Lakes? The region is home to a number of different mountains and ski resorts to suit every level, whether you’re an experienced skier speeding down the black diamond trails or prefer to stick to the bunny hill.

Bristol Mountain

Bristol Mountain’s impressive 1,200-foot vertical rise makes it the highest vertical between the Adirondack Mountains and the Rocky Mountains. Along with 138 acres of skiable terrain, 38 slopes and trails, two high-speed quads, stunning summit views, and the best possible snow conditions — thanks to a state-of-the-art snowmaking system that covers the entire terrain —  it’s clear why Bristol Mountain offers the best skiing in the Finger Lakes.

Designed to satisfy the most experienced skiers and snowboarders, as well as children and those just starting out, Bristol Mountain boasts a variety of inclines and illuminates 97% of its trails during its open nighttime hours.

Located in Canandaigua, just a 20-minute drive from The Lake House, we’re pleased to partner with the region’s premier ski destination to offer an exclusive Ski & Stay Package available to The Lake House guests.

Greek Peak Mountain

Opened in 1958 in Cortland, New York (about two hours away from The Lake House), Greek Peak Mountain Resort has been a longtime favorite for where to ski in the Finger Lakes. The mountain features 56 trails, six chair lifts, two surface lifts, a beginners’ slope, and terrain parks. Tired of the slopes? Head to the tubing center for sledding or the Nordic center for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails.

Song Mountain Resort

In Tully, New York (about an hour and a half away from The Lake House), Song Mountain Resort features 24 trails, five lifts, and night skiing. Along with its public offerings, Song Mountain Resort is also home to a private ski club and is the sister site to Labrador Mountain.

Labrador Mountain

Located in Truxton, New York (just 20 minutes away from Song Mountain Resort and about an hour and 45 minutes away from The Lake House), Labrador Mountain is known for its night skiing and 15 lit trails. Full inter-mountain passes are available, allowing skiers to access both Song Mountain Resort and Labrador Mountain for one price.

In addition to skiing in the Finger Lakes, there are plenty of other outdoor winter activities to experience throughout the season. From snowshoeing and ice skating to ice fishing and simply soaking up the picturesque snow-covered landscape, winter in the Finger Lakes is a magical time of year.
